Training room furniture: stackable chairs with writing tablets, folding tables, lab stools and lockers for classrooms and training centers
A classroom or training room changes use several times a day: a lecture in the morning, group work in the afternoon, a corporate course or an exam the next day. That is why training room furniture has to move and regroup in minutes, stand up to intensive daily use and stay comfortable for people who sit for hours listening, taking notes and working on a laptop.
Frezza training room furniture brings together stackable chairs with writing tablets, folding tables on wheels, ergonomic stools for labs and technical rooms, bookcases, lockers and poufs for study areas, to be chosen together and customized in the finishes of the project, for university classrooms, training centers and corporate training rooms.
Stackable chairs with writing tablets
Seating is the largest part of any classroom and has to switch from rows facing the speaker to small groups without effort. Among Frezza office seating, the Yo collection, by Progetto CMR, applies the same shell to different bases and materials. Yo Wood has a shell in beech plywood or in natural or bleached oak veneer, can be stacked and linked and, in the sled-base version, has a removable writing tablet, with a chrome-plated frame or one painted in 8 RAL colors. Yo Plastic brings the color of polypropylene into the room, while Yo Fabric and Yo Upholstered add fabric or faux leather upholstery for executive education rooms and corporate training rooms.
For rooms that are cleared often, Noma has a frame in 22 mm steel rod, stacks up to 12 chairs without armrests and 9 with armrests and takes a writing tablet as an accessory. For faculty rooms and department meeting rooms, the Lash wooden chair, by Monica Armani, has armrests and an enveloping backrest, in natural oak, black oak or terracotta lacquer, with the seat in fabric or leather.
Training room tables: folding, on wheels and linkable
The table decides how many layouts a room can have. Among Frezza office tables, Pop Folding has a 25 mm melamine top that flips to a vertical position so the tables can be stored in little space, in lengths of 120, 140, 160 and 180 cm and depths of 60 or 80 cm, with a 50 mm square tube frame in white or aluminum and wheels. Hooks under the top link the tables into compact rows and create horseshoe, boardroom, imperial and square layouts, which makes them the most versatile training room tables in the range.
For stand-up group work and quick reviews, the Be.1 Nomad Table, by Progetto CMR, is a high table with a rectangular steel tube frame, a footrest crossbar and wheels with brakes, designed for universities, libraries and coworking spaces.
Ergonomic stools for labs and technical classrooms
In labs, drawing studios and technical classrooms, people work at benches of different heights and often switch between sitting and standing. Among Frezza work stools, Ergotech Wood has a seat in 11 mm beech plywood with a natural finish, gas height adjustment with standard or extended travel and an adjustable non-slip aluminum footrest, and is certified to EN 16139 and EN 1728. Ergotech PU has seat and backrest in integral polyurethane that is easy to clean, suited to rooms with strict hygiene requirements, is certified to EN 1335 and also comes in a sit-stand version.
Bookcases, lockers and poufs for study areas
Around the classroom you need room for books, personal belongings and informal study. The Phylo bookcase has a painted steel frame with a square section, shelves in metal, melamine or glass, heights from 46 to 198 cm and, as accessories, a writable chalkboard panel and lockable cabinets. Lockers, 45 cm wide with 3 or 4 compartments, close with a key, a combination or a badge and have numbered doors for students and course participants, while Frezza office cabinets store teaching materials.
For study and break areas outside the classroom, the C1.8 pouf, by Giorgio Topan, comes in a version with an integrated beech plywood table and a fabric handle to move it. To split the room into working groups, the Agile board on wheels with a monitor holder and the Be.1 Mediawalk mobile partition go wherever they are needed, together with equipped partition walls for permanent divisions.
Training room furniture then coordinates with educational furniture for schools and universities, library furniture and conference hall furniture: by choosing chairs and tables from the same collections, such as Yo, the spaces of a campus or training center stay consistent as flexible classroom furniture with upholstery and finishes customized to the project. For practical advice on planning these spaces, see our tips for optimizing training rooms.
For architects and interior designers, technical sheets and DWG files of the collections are available, to drop straight into the project of training room furniture.
Training room furniture: frequently asked questions
How should a training room be laid out?
The best training room layout depends on the session: classroom rows for lectures and tests, a U-shape or horseshoe for discussion with the trainer, and pods of tables for group work. Pop Folding tables, from 120 to 180 cm long and 60 or 80 cm deep, link with hooks under the top into horseshoe, boardroom, imperial and square layouts, while chairs with writing tablets allow theater-style seating with no tables at all.
Should training room chairs have wheels or a writing tablet?
In rooms that are reset often, stackable chairs are usually more practical than chairs on casters, because they clear the floor in minutes. Yo Wood, by Progetto CMR, has a removable writing tablet in the sled-base version and can be stacked and linked in rows, and Noma takes a writing tablet as an accessory and stacks up to 12 chairs without armrests. For labs and technical rooms, Ergotech stools offer gas height adjustment, casters or glides and an adjustable footrest.
Which tables work best in a training room: folding or on wheels?
Tables that do both give the most flexibility. Pop Folding has a 25 mm melamine top that flips to a vertical position and wheels, so tables can be moved and stored side by side against a wall when the room is cleared, then linked again for the next course. For stand-up sessions, the Be.1 Nomad Table is a high table with wheels with brakes and a footrest crossbar.
What makes classroom furniture flexible?
Flexible classroom furniture lets the same room host lectures, group work and workshops without bringing in new pieces. That means chairs that stack, such as Yo and Noma, tables that fold and link, such as Pop Folding, and mobile boards and dividers, such as Agile with its monitor holder and the Be.1 Mediawalk panel, that split the room into zones and move away when they are not needed.
Are CAD blocks and DWG files available for training room furniture?
Yes. DWG files and technical sheets for Frezza collections can be downloaded from the catalog area of the website. Architects and interior designers can drop chairs, tables, stools and lockers straight into the training room floor plan and check clearances for each layout before specifying.
