Office bench seating for waiting rooms, receptions and lobbies

Frezza office bench seating furnishes the spaces where several people sit together while taking up little room: waiting rooms, reception areas, lobbies and the office’s lounge areas. Compared with a sofa, upholstered benches have a smaller footprint and a more upright seat, and they come in fabric, leather and eco-leather.

Waiting room benches for receptions and entrances

In waiting rooms and receptions, benches offer more seats in less space and stay tidy even with constant foot traffic. Domino is a range of upholstered benches with one, two or three seats, also with a backrest and armrests: end and central elements sit side by side, and corner modules let the compositions follow the walls without interruption. It comes in leather, eco-leather and fabric and is part of the Domino collection, with matching sofas and armchairs.

Upholstered benches for working and taking a break

In open-plan offices and break areas, office bench seating also becomes a place to work for a while away from the desk. Alplus, designed by Marco Zito, has 35 cm high tables that attach to the seat, with a fixed round top or a swivel top for a laptop, and metal storage trays. In the version with a backrest it takes removable fabric-covered divider panels, which create an acoustically protected space. It is part of the Alplus collection, which also includes sofas, armchairs, desks, meeting tables and pods.

Upholstered benches for restaurants and bars

In bars and restaurants, upholstered benches make the most of the walls and seat more customers around the tables, with upholstery that is easy to clean even at peak hours. Waiting benches for airports, hospitals and classrooms

Where use is intensive, beam benches are the better choice, as they are sturdier and easier to clean. Kone is all metal, with 2 to 5 seats, a seat and backrest in perforated sheet steel and, on request, armrests, a padded cushion for the seat and backrest, and a table between two seats: it is designed for airports and hospitals. Poppea and Len have seats fixed to a black painted steel beam, with 2 to 5 seats: Poppea for waiting rooms and airports, Len for waiting rooms and classrooms. For collaborative spaces and training rooms there is also Gradone, a system of modular grandstand steps and benches on two levels.

Office bench seating is completed by design poufs and office coffee tables, which keep magazines and catalogs within reach in the waiting room. What are the dimensions of an upholstered bench?

It depends on the number of seats. Domino benches, for example, are 66 cm wide in the one-seater version, 132 cm in the two-seater and 192 cm in the three-seater. As a rule of thumb, allow about 60 cm per person, and leave the space in front of the seat clear for people to walk past.

Bench with or without a backrest: which to choose?

A bench without a backrest takes up less space and can be used from both sides, so it suits corridors, entrances and passageways where people only stop briefly. A bench with a backrest supports the back and is the better choice for longer waits, in waiting rooms and receptions. Domino comes in both versions, also with armrests.

Which benches are best for a waiting room?

It depends on how many people pass through. For offices, receptions and lobbies, an upholstered bench such as Domino or Alplus makes waiting more comfortable and coordinates with sofas and armchairs. For high-traffic spaces such as airports and hospitals, metal or polypropylene beam benches such as Kone, Poppea and Len are more suitable; Kone can also have a padded cushion on the seat and backrest.

Can upholstered benches be arranged in an L shape or corner?

Yes. Modular benches have end, central and corner elements that sit side by side to follow the walls or form L-shaped compositions. Domino, for example, comes with corner modules, also with a backrest and armrests, and suits waiting rooms, corridors and common areas.

Can upholstered benches be customized?

Yes, within the modules each collection offers. You choose the number of seats and the layout, the version with or without a backrest and the upholstery in fabric, leather or eco-leather. On Alplus you can also add tables attached to the seat and divider panels, to adapt the bench to the project.
