EMMEGI: office seating, community and soft seating systems
Emmegi is an Italian brand that has been designing and creating solutions for offices and public spaces for over sixty years. It’s specialized in the production of operative and executive armchairs, soft seating, chairs and furniture for large spaces, auditorium armchairs and furnishing accessories.
In 1993 the company became part of the Frezza group and has since then shared its commitment to provide wellbeing in the workplace and passion for design, as witnessed by prestigious collaborations with renowned designers.
Company history
Emmegi was founded in 1962 in Monselice, as an artisan workshop specialized in the production of office chairs. The products immediately obtained a favorable response in the local area, but the real turning point came in the sixties: a new partner, with a modern managerial vision, entrusted the design to a young Venetian architect called Paolo Favaretto. Under his artistic direction, innovative office and community products were created, destined to conquer the domestic and international markets: France, Austria, the Middle East, as far as Hong Kong and Singapore.
The second turning point in Emmegi’s history took place in the nineties, when the company became part of the Frezza group. The new property invested in technology and innovation to further enhance the tradition of design and craftsmanship. In synergy with the production of the mother company, the catalogue is enriched with new specific solutions for large rooms, universities, conference rooms and lounges.
The design
Emmegi’s traditional stylistic research is renewed through constant collaboration with established designers. The result is a range of seating and furnishing solutions that, with each collection, imposes itself on the international design scene. This is testified by the numerous awards achieved over the years: among many others, the Good Design Award 2008, in the “Furniture” section, awarded by the Chicago Atheneum of Architecture and Design and the Grandesign Award 2008 by the Plana Cultural Association of Milan. One of Emmegi’s most successful products, the Elle seat, has also been selected by the Permanent Observatory of Design and has been included in the ADI Design Index’09 volume.
