Reception armchairs for offices, waiting rooms and lobbies
Frezza reception armchairs furnish the spaces where a company welcomes its guests and makes them wait: waiting rooms, reception areas, executive offices and lobbies. They are upholstered seats designed for waiting, conversation and relaxation, more compact than a sofa and available in fabric, leather and eco-leather.
Together with sofas, benches and poufs, they are part of Frezza’s office lounge furniture: armchairs from the same collections share upholstery and finishes, so they coordinate with office sofas and design poufs.
Armchairs for waiting rooms and receptions
In waiting rooms and receptions, armchairs are the first piece of furniture a visitor uses, so they need to be comfortable, tidy and able to withstand daily use. Poppea has cold-foamed polyurethane shells with a cushion integrated into the seat, and a four-spoke base with fixed feet or a 360° swivel; it also comes in Soft and Soft Extra Large versions, with a matching ottoman. Stand By has clean lines and a soft memory foam seat, and works well in waiting areas and as a visitor chair.
For busier waiting areas, you can also read our guide to waiting room armchairs designed for intensive use.
Office lounge chairs for executive offices
In an executive office, a pair of lounge chairs and a coffee table create a corner for receiving guests away from the desk. Radar Lounge, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, has an organically shaped shell, four versions defined by the volume of the backrest and headrest, and a tilt mechanism hidden in the shell, also lockable or with automatic return. It comes in fabric, leather or eco-leather and is part of the Radar collection, with matching sofas and poufs.
For working at the desk there is Radar Executive, the executive version with a high backrest and headrest, on casters or glides, alongside the Meeting and Visitor versions with a low backrest.
Armchairs for lounge areas and relaxation spaces
In lounge areas and the office’s relaxation spaces, people need enveloping seats where they can stop to talk or take a break between meetings. Sabree comes in two sculptural versions, a swivel armchair on a cylindrical base and a fixed tub chair, upholstered in fabric or leather; the collection, designed by Monica Armani, also includes sofas and a matching armchair in fabric, bouclé, velvet and leather.
Armchairs for restaurants, bars and hotels
The same seats also furnish hospitality spaces. Stand By, designed by Favaretto & Partners, stands on slim tubular steel legs in white or black or on a solid wood base with an oak finish, and is used in bars and restaurants, relaxation areas and meeting spaces. For hospitality projects, see also our guide to restaurant chairs.
Other Frezza office chairs
For seating at work, other pages are the reference: executive chairs for the desk, leather executive office chairs for prestigious offices, and meeting room furniture. For auditoriums, theaters and conference rooms, there is a dedicated selection of conference room furniture.
Armchairs, poufs and coffee tables to match
Reception armchairs are completed by office coffee tables and by poufs from the same collection, which act as footrests or extra seats. This way the waiting room, the reception and the executive office can speak the same language, with upholstery and finishes customizable to the project.
Reception armchairs: frequently asked questions
What are the best armchairs for a reception area?
The best reception armchairs are comfortable but compact, with upholstery that withstands daily use and is easy to clean. Poppea is designed for receptions, hotel lobbies and offices, while Radar Lounge, with its organic lines, gives the reception a more prestigious look. To keep the space consistent, it is worth coordinating the armchairs with the reception desk and with the sofas in the waiting area.
Reception chairs with or without arms: which to choose?
Armchairs with arms are more comfortable for longer waits and make it easier to sit down and stand up, so they suit receptions, executive offices and waiting rooms where visitors stay a while. Armless chairs take up less space and are easier to place side by side. Where space is really tight, upholstered benches offer several seats in a small footprint.
Swivel or fixed office lounge chair?
A swivel chair lets you turn towards the person you are talking to without moving the seat, which is convenient in receptions, lobbies and executive offices. A fixed chair is more stable and lines up better in rows or around a coffee table, as in waiting rooms. Poppea is available with a four-spoke base with fixed feet or with a 360° swivel base, while Sabree comes as a swivel armchair or a fixed tub chair.
When is an office lounge chair with ottoman worth it?
An ottoman is worth it when the chair has to become a place to relax: it works as a footrest in executive offices and relaxation areas and, when needed, as an extra seat. It is best chosen from the same collection, so upholstery and lines stay coordinated: the Radar collection includes armchairs, sofas and poufs, while Poppea has its own ottoman.
Which coffee table goes with reception armchairs?
A low coffee table, at about the height of the armchair seat, keeps magazines, catalogs and drinks within reach without getting in the way. Round tables make it easier to move around in busy waiting rooms, while rectangular ones suit armchairs placed facing each other or next to a sofa. Choosing it from the same collection keeps finishes coordinated: the Radar collection, for example, also includes lounge tables.
