Equipped walls: storage integrated into the partition

Frezza’s equipped office walls are built on a load-bearing frame that carries both the panelling and the storage modules, so shelves and doors are part of the wall rather than added against it. The Areaplan Spazio system is the reference solution: the same wall can host open shelving on the corridor side and closed archive units on the office side, with depths coordinated to standard binders and folders. Where only containment is required, without dividing the room, the office cabinets and storage units cover the same finishes.

In offices that still handle paper — legal, administrative, technical departments, public bodies — the wall becomes the archive. Modules can be specified with lockable doors, internal dividers, pull-out frames for suspended files and shelf pitches that follow the height of the documents actually stored. Each composition is drawn on the room, so returns, columns and window reveals are absorbed by the wall instead of leaving gaps.

Demountable partitions: reconfigurable and reusable

Frezza’s systems are demountable: dry-assembled, with no fixing into the slab beyond the top and bottom tracks, which means a layout can be changed without demolition and the same components can be reinstalled elsewhere. For tenants on a lease this keeps the investment movable, and for a building owner it keeps the shell intact. The Pal 82 freestanding system takes this to the extreme, dividing an open plan with no connection to the structure at all.

Acoustic performance and finishes

Where confidentiality matters — executive offices, meeting rooms, HR — the wall is specified for sound insulation: double glazing with an air gap in the glazed sections, acoustic infill in the opaque modules and perimeter seals. The K82 system combines wood and glass for exactly this case. Finishes follow the rest of the Frezza range — melamine, wood and glass in the same colours as the desks and the storage units — so the wall reads as part of the furniture rather than as building work.
